No news is good news....

Well-Let's see...It's been awhile....Ukiah has been holding his own although he needed a root canal in December-at a cost of$1175.00-which I put on "his" card....He needs another[in July] but I haven't got "his" card down enough to afford it..R+C fund paid his Merial fee of about $365.00[approx]They have also paid another of his Merials [$321.29 which was the balance of a bill of $1070.20]...I paid the one before that...He goes back on June 8th for his next Merial and he should have a Chest Xray-Stomach Ultrasound-Blood workup-Lymph node check....There is no way I will have "his card" paid down enough for his needs....He was one of this years MSU Miracle Pets along with 70+/- others who have "beat the odds"-there was a mother goat and even a ferret....I was amazed at the number of Cancer Survivors in attendance...Ukiah has passed his 2d year anniversary but we know all the Melanoma "stats" so I continue to hold my breath...His poor teeth are so damaged from the Radiation Therapy and the hair under his chin has never grown back.....
Having said all that-I'd like to address a situation many of us with pets surviving Cancers must face....The loss of funding assistance....We have an animal with ongoing needs...We do our best to deserve the help we have been pledged...We pay as much[and more] of each bill so the pledges are there when we really are desperate....We try our best to keep "those with the purse strings" informed and "in the loop".....Ukiah has used about 20% of his award.......All we ask is an acknowledgement of our emails and/or phone messages....so that we may know-without doubt-that our Beautiful Miracle Rescued Survivor Boy has not been abandoned.....

We continue to sell on his Artfire site and all sales go towards "his card".I applied for a higher balance card but the "Powers That Be" know it's used for an animal surviving Canine Aggressive Oral Melanoma....They aren't willing to gamble even tho he has beaten Heartworms and Pneumonia before being diagnosed with cancer...My KiaGuy is a fighter!!!!!
